  • 10.15: University Of Newcastle's Vice Chancellor, Professor Caroline McMillen. Reflections on Autonomy Day - how the university has changed since gaining autonomy; Book Fair; National Preventative Health Award - University of Newcastle researchers have won two awards - Professor Phil Morgan for his obestity prevention program at Tomago (Workplace POWER) who took out the Healthy Workplace Award, and Professor John Wiggers and Dr Luke Wolfenden for the Preventative Health Translational Research Award for their program Good for Kids, Good for Life (we also had Professor Chris Doran shortlisted in this award category)
  • 10.45am: CHOICE, he consumer Watchdog, has advised a NSW Government crack-down on scalpers will stop people re-selling event tickets when they cannot attend an event
  • 11.20am: Worimi Conservation Lands Board of Management Chairperson, Petrice Manton. Vandalism of an Aboriginal midden which could date back as far as 12,000 Years has appalled rangers & traditional owners of the land. The damage is suspected to be done by quad bike riders
  • 11.35am: University of Newcastle's Head Of Mathematics & Physical Sciences, Prof John O’Connor, discusses a new method of killing damaged cells in a body and controlling that by accurately measuring individual cell's temperature
