Dr Conor Gilligan; Laurie Coughlan; Amany George; Climate Change

Good morning. Today on the show:
  • 10.15am: University of Newcastle Senior Lecturer, Dr Conor Gilligan. A University Of Newcastle Research Team and Hunter Medical Research Team were recently awarded a $10,000 prize for their research into smoking rates among pregnant indigenous women. Dr Gilligan went to Cairns and Townsville for 18 months to work closely with the indigenous community for her research
  • 10.45am: Lake Macquarie Council Deputy Mayor, Laurie Coghlan. There are concerns for the future of Lake Macquarie's public swimming pools with no finance set aside for their redevelopment
  • 11.15am: Centre Manager, Amany George. The 2013 Hunter Multicultural Service Expo is being held on Durham Road, Lambton from 10am - 2pm, Wednesday 29th May
  • 11.35am: Climate Change – Lessons for Renewal is being held at Lake Macquarie Performing Arts Centre on Friday at 6pm. Guest Speaker, Allan Jones, Chief Development Officer, Energy & Climate Change, City of Sydney
